Boundary Training
Prerequisites:  All skills from Basic & Advanced Obedience

1.  With leash in hand, walk towards the boundary and cross right over it.  DO NOT begin with the heel command! If
the dog follows, correct immediately.  The correction continues until all four of the dog's feet
are back across on the appropriate side of the boundary.

2.  Praise.

3.  Repeat until the dog will not willingly cross the boundary, even as you are crossing it.

4.  Teach the release by crossing, turning to the dog, and giving the 'release'. You will
probably have to guide the dog by giving a gentle pull on the leash to get it to actually
cross the boundary with the release word.

Repeat until the dog is coming across only when you give the release word.
