Luring the "Down" Command:
1) Begin by asking for your "Down" command, then pause for about 1 second before moving.
2) With your dog in a sitting position, hold a treat to their nose.
3) Bring the treat down slightly forward and in front of your dog's paws.
4) As your dog follows the treat, they should lie down.
5) As soon as your dog's elbows touch the floor in a down position, mark with a "yes!" and reward with the treat in your hand.
